Bud's motorcycle shop in Austin
Doug, Terrance and I go back about five years...when I first moved to Austin. They had been into vintage Harleys long before then and took me to Bud's when I was looking for old chopper parts. Bud's is the place to go in Austin for the 74 inch stuff.

Red Beard = Rodney Smith
I met RB a few years back when he would ride his rigid shovel to the shop I was working at. The shop had a bike night that your usual weekend warriors would attend. I had to stay late on those Wednesday nights so I could help sell the business while these middle aged tough guys would get to pretend they were the bad ass bikers that they remembered hearing about when they were kids.These are the majority of the late model Harley riders and the reason I left the Harley dealerships after 10 years of loyal service...anyway Rodney seemed so out of place there and I wondered why a guy that had style and rode a cool bike would go there.I found out he had just moved to Denver from San Diego and didn't know anybody or think there was anybody cool in Denver. When he found out that I also rode a rigid Shovel we soon became close. Since Rodney and I have always been into cool old Harleys, parts, accessories and anything else old; we decided it would be cool to have a blog that was more focused on that aspect of whatever this addiction to Mid-century motorcycles is or becomes. So here it is through our eyes and here is the introduction to one of the coolest guys I know,Rodney Smith.

Chopper Julie's sissybar
Chopper Julie from a Fine Chariot brought over this original vintage sissybar, she is putting on her Panhead chopper, for me to get chromed. It's killer and still retains that vintage look with some small pitts in it.

Bates leather cafe jacket 4 sale

Cycle Champ leather jacket 4 sale
This is a Cycle Champ style 60's leather jacket by Brent. Its lined and says it's a 40. It fits me and I'm a 42,though. It has really cool square hoop zipper pulls and has really nice patina. Micheal Lichter and Sugar Bear
Two legends...what a killer day it was to have Micheal shoot all of us at Sugar Bear's shop.Sugar bear is the best host and his photo museum comes alive with his stories of the black chopper club members from after the war and on through the seventies.

Micheal Lichter
Micheal Lichter tells me this story about getting pulled over in California in the seventies for not wearing a helmet...the cop followed him to the Harley dealership and made him buy a new lid...he led me out to my bike before he would show me what he bought back then ...
